Money decisions affect people’s security, so we hold every guide on Loan Secure Pro, whatever the topic, to the standards below.
Sources we use
| Topic | Primary sources |
|---|---|
| Auto, home and life insurance | NAIC, Insurance Information Institute, IIHS/HLDI, NHTSA, FEMA, state Departments of Insurance |
| Health insurance | healthcare.gov, CMS, HHS, KFF, IRS, Department of Labor, state marketplaces |
| Loans, credit and P2P lending | CFPB, FTC, FDIC, Federal Reserve, SBA, studentaid.gov, IRS, the credit bureaus, SEC |
| Islamic finance | AAOIFI, IFSB, Bank Negara Malaysia, State Bank of Pakistan, peer-reviewed research, bank and regulator product pages |
| Other personal finance topics | The relevant regulator or government body first (for example the SEC, FINRA, IRS, FDIC or a state agency), then established industry bodies and peer-reviewed research |
What we promise
- Every rule, limit, deadline or figure is checked against a primary source and carries the year it applies to.
- Each guide lists its sources with the date they were accessed, and shows a “last updated” date at the top.
- We say what a guide does not cover and where rules differ by state, insurer or lender.
- We never invent experience: no “we tested”, no fictional customers, no fabricated reviews or testimonials.
- We do not tell you which policy or loan to buy. We show how to compare and decide.
- Provider and lender roundups are research-based, drawn from public filings, regulator complaint data and published terms. We do not rank by commission and we do not use star ratings.
Use of AI tools
We use AI writing and image tools to draft text and to generate the illustrative photographs and infographics on this site. Every guide is researched, fact-checked, edited and approved by Rakib Sarwar before publication, and every figure in an infographic appears in the guide with its source. Images are illustrations, not photographs of real events or people.
Updates and corrections
Guides that cite annual limits, rates or costs are reviewed at least every six months. Errors reported through the contact form are corrected in the guide and noted at the bottom of the page.
Independence
Advertising and partner relationships are disclosed on each page where they appear and explained on how we make money. Partners do not review guides before publication and cannot pay for placement or favorable coverage.
